Design and build specialist Markey Construction is on track for a successful year after handing over its latest commercial development – Railway House in the centre of Gloucester – on time and on budget.
The Gloucestershire-based firm has spent seven months transforming the former Courts furniture store on Bruton Way into state-of-the-art offices as part of a multimillion pound refurbishment project for Formal Investments Limited, private development, investment and asset management company.
Situated on the A430, Bruton Way next to the Railway Station, Railway House offers 32,000 sq ft of premium office space over two-storeys.
As well as installing a new floor, Markey was responsible for refurbishing the building internally to provide mixed use facilities and thanks to the team’s efforts, the first tenant – Gloucester City Homes - was able to move in last November.
Commenting on the project, Tony Markey, Markey Group Director, said:
“Railway House has been a great project for us and it’s exciting to think we’ve helped turn a local eyesore into much-needed high end office accommodation.
Thanks to the hard work and dedication of my team, this landmark building is now a prime commercial site and I’m confident it will be a real boost for Gloucester’s economy.”
